Looking for Shopify store examples? Below are 12 real stores across industries, each with the numbers that tell you how big it is: estimated monthly organic traffic, catalog size and an SEO score from 0 to 100. The figures come from the ShopScoutr dataset of 10,495 Shopify stores, so they are measurements, not opinions.

The short answer: Shopify runs far more than small shops. The stores below get between roughly 1 million and 6 million estimated organic visits a month, and their catalogs range from 46 products to over 50,000. Use them to see what a mature store looks like in your niche, then use the method at the end to find and study more.

How we picked these examples

We sorted the dataset by estimated organic traffic and picked well-known stores from different industries. That means this is a list of large, established stores, not a ranking of all of Shopify. Two limits apply:

  • Traffic is a modelled estimate, not analytics from the store. Use it to compare stores, not as an exact figure.
  • The SEO score is ours. It runs from 0 to 100 and is built from on-site signals, so it says how well a store is set up for search, not how well it ranks today.

What the numbers show

Catalog size does not decide traffic. Casper has 87 products and about 2.2 million estimated organic visits a month. Skullcandy has 46 products and about 1.5 million. Mattel's store has 49,050 products and about 3.6 million. A small, focused catalog can pull as much search traffic as a huge one when the brand is strong.

Big catalogs exist on Shopify too. Outside the table, the dataset holds stores such as fashionphile.com with 1,798,732 products and society6.com with 2,309,475. If you sell apps or services that depend on catalog size, such as search, feeds or product data, those stores have a very different problem from a 50-product brand.

Most large stores score well on SEO setup. All twelve score between 90 and 98. The pattern is that big brands have usually fixed the basics, so a pitch built on "your titles are missing" will fail on them. The better targets for an SEO agency are mid-sized stores with traffic and a low score, not the household names.

Industry shapes the examples you should study. Fashion and apparel is the biggest industry in the dataset with 2,023 stores, followed by home and garden (870), electronics (494) and health and beauty (488). If you work in a smaller industry, such as pet supplies (114 stores) or wedding and bridal (24), the biggest stores in it will be far smaller than the ones above.

How to study a Shopify store example

Opening a store is not enough. For each example you want to learn from, check:

  1. The theme and apps. A Shopify theme detector shows which theme a store runs, and a Shopify app detector shows which apps are installed.
  2. Collection page structure. Look at how the store names collections, writes collection intro text and links to subcollections. This is where most ecommerce search traffic lands.
  3. Product page content. Check whether descriptions are written for the product or copied from the manufacturer, and whether there are reviews and sizing or spec tables.
  4. Site speed on mobile. Run the homepage and one product page through a speed test.
  5. What they do in search. Search the brand name plus a product type and see which of their pages appear.

How to find more Shopify store examples

If you need examples in a specific niche, there are three routes:

Using examples to find clients

If you sell to Shopify merchants, examples are also a prospecting tool. Large brands rarely need you. The stores worth contacting sit one or two steps below them: real traffic, a catalog in your niche and gaps in their setup. How to get SEO clients without cold calling shows how to qualify stores on exactly these signals.
